Ember is a city underground. The sky is brown and misty. Beyond the city nothing exists. The lights flicker on and off resulting in blackouts. The food supply is running low and the people of Ember need to find a wait out, but how? When Lina’s baby sister, Poppy, finds an old set of instructions, Lina believes they are instructing people on how to get out of Ember. She and her friend, Doon, begin decoding them immediately. Someday, maybe soon, the people of Ember will be saved.
This was not my favorite book, but then again, I am not into sci-fy fantasy. If you like that genre, then I recommend it to you.
